2022 Tax Information

Federal Forms

  • 1040 is the only form in use by IRS instruction booklets and 1040/1040 SR forms are available on the main floor specialized forms can be ordered Monday through Friday from 7am until 7pm by calling 1(800) 829-3676. Click here to print forms.

New Jersey State Forms

  • Taxpayers who filed a paper form last year should receive their tax booklet by mail. Anyone who didn’t get a booklet by mid February call 1(800) 323-4400 from 8am until 4pm from Monday until Friday, or 1(609) 292-6400. Click here to print forms.

AARP Taxpayer Assistance Available

  • Elizabeth Public Library, which is located at 11 South Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. Please call (908) 354-6060 to schedule an appointment.
  • Rahway Senior Center, which is located at 1306 Esterbrook Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065. Please call (732) 827-2016 to schedule an appointment.
  • Gregorio Center is unable to be a participant this year.

Special Welcome

Please join us in welcoming Lisa McClure as the new Director of the Linden Public Library.  A fierce advocate for public libraries, Ms. McClure brings with her a wealth of expertise in community engagement, innovative programming, and strategic planning.

Health Services

Linden Public Library offers several different health based services for our community both in person and through our digital resources. Read more below to learn about them and check out our events and programming to see when our nest health centric program will be.

Health Kiosk
While visiting the Library, stop by our Health Kiosk in the lobby behind the privacy screen. The
kiosk takes blood pressure, heartrate, and pulse ox readings, measures weight and calculated
BMI.

De-Stress Zone
Our De-Stress Zone, located in the second-floor atrium, is a quiet and relaxing spot for patrons to de-stress. The zone has adult coloring pages, puzzle sheets, chess and backgammon tables, and a jigsaw puzzle for patrons to use. The puzzles and coloring pages are rotated out periodically so the zone always has something a little different. Plaques on the wall educate
patrons about the activity they are doing it and how it helps with stress. This area is also a designated quiet zone meaning noise is to be kept to an absolute minimum.

Health Information
There is a display located in the entrance lobby with pamphlets and information in English and Spanish related to various health concerns and conditions. Any member of the public is welcome to take whatever information they need.

Adult Services

Linden Public Library offers various services for our adult patrons in addition to books and programs.
These include, reference services, public computers with internet, printing and scanning, inter-library
loan, notary services, faxing, and some health related services.

Reference Desk
The reference desk is located on the second floor and open during regular library hours. Our reference librarians are happy to assist with any research questions you may have. In order to have the opportunity to serve everyone equally, reference interviews are kept to 30 minutes. If you have a more complicated question you can ask the librarian for a research form. After receiving the form our librarians will work on your request as time allows and contact you with the information request is completed. If you are unable to come to the library in person, you can email us anytime.

  • Public Computer & Internet Use – Linden Public Library has 14 computers available for public use. Linden and MURAL patrons can log on with their library card number and are allowed 3, 45 minute, sessions per day. Non-card holders can ask at the reference desk for a guest pass after sowing ID. Please note no guest passes will be issued to minors. All public computers shut down and are unavailable for use 15 minutes before the library closes.     • Wi-Fi – Linden Public Library offers free, publicly accessible Wi-Fi for library users with time restrictions. The network name is LFPL and there is no password. Please note, that the Linden Public Library is not responsible for the security of your documents or personal information on the open wireless network.
  • Printing & Scanning – Library patrons are able to print from the public computers or from their personal devices. A Copier and scanner are also available for public use on the first and second floors near the stairs. The charge to print black and white copies is $0.15 per page, and $.50 per page for color copies. Prints can only be paid for in cash and our coin box will not accept any bill larger than a $5. All printing should be completed 30 minutes before closing. There is no charge for scanning documents, however, you will be required to deposit at least $0.15 in the copier to turn it on. When you finish scanning, simply press the coin return and your money will be returned. For instructions on printing from a personal computer or device click here.
  • Fax Machine – The fax machine is located next to the circulation desk on the first floor. The fax is self service and costs $1.75 for the first page and $1 per each additional page. Patrons can pay either with their credit card or with a fax card which can be purchased at the circulation desk.

Interlibrary Loan
We are able to offer Interlibrary Loan services through JerseyCat, New Jersey’s statewide virtual catalog
and interlibrary loan system. Linden patrons can request titles not in the Linden Public Library catalog in
person, over the phone, or through JerseyCat itself. If the request is accepted, the book is sent over
from the other participating library to us, removing the need to the patron to travel to other libraries.
Interlibrary loans can be borrowed for 14 days. Please note, non-Linden residents and MURAL patrons
are required to submit ILL request through their home library.

Notary Services
Linden Public Library is proud to offer notary services to members of the community. Notary services are
offered free of charge to Linden residents. For non-residents there is a fee of $2.50 per appointment.
Please call the library to make an appointment before coming in, to ensure that a notary will be
available. All notary patrons are required of show a valid proof of ID, along with the full document that
will be notarized.

Youth Services

Our Youth Department offers a wide variety of services to the children of Linden and their families.

Our large, up-to-date collection includes picture books, fiction and nonfiction titles, board books for babies and toddlers, fairy tales and folklore, easy readers, and read-a-longs. Stop by the Children’s Room to learn about and sign up for youth programs for all ages including, Terrific Toddlers Story and Playtime, Lego Club, DIY craft club and more!

Here at The Linden Public Library our librarians use children’s literature and other library resources to encourage a lifelong joy of reading and the opportunity for personal development.

Summer Reading
Every summer, Linden Public Library hosts Summer Reading programs for children, teens, and adults. Check back later in the year for more information on this year’s theme, pamphlets, and reading list.

Young Adults
Linden Public Library offers specialized collections of books for young adults including, fiction, reference, non-fiction, audiobooks, and graphic novels. The young adult section is located along the wall and front windows near the adult fiction and DVD sections.

Launchpads
Launchpads are pre-loaded with content for kids, teens, and adults, designed with a simple, easy-to-use interface, and 100% secure. There is no download time or need for Wi-Fi. Access to powerful content is simple as turning on each device, anytime, anywhere. Information on Launchpads can be found in the children’s room. Launchpads can be checked out at the circulation desk for 2 weeks at a time. Our Launchpads include:

  • Reading Academy Launchpad for developing verbal skills, reading skills and writing skills.

    • Emerging – Ages 4+
    • Early Developing – Ages 5+
    • Developing – Ages 7+

Navisun, a community solar farm owner and operator, delivers clean electricity into the PSE&G grid. Navisun supports the Linden Public Library through donations for each enrollment. Patrons of the library who reside in Linden and neighboring towns are guaranteed 10% savings on their electricity costs (15% savings if low-to-moderate income, or LMI) when they sign up for community solar.
