Notice of Board of Trustees Meeting – Cancellation

Please be advised that the Linden Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting scheduled for February 2, 2026, at 6:30pm has been canceled. The next regular meeting of the Linden Public Library Board of Trustees will be held on March 2, 2026, at 6:30pm at the Linden Public Library.

Library Closure on Saturday, December 27, 2025

Due to the forecast of an overnight winter storm in our area, the Linden Public Library will be closed on Saturday, December 27, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage everyone to stay safe. Thank you for your understanding.

Road Work Notice – Tuesday, July 22, 2025

Although East Henry Street will be closed for construction on Tuesday, July 22, the Linden Public Library will still be open to the public! Please park off-street and follow all posted parking regulations when visiting the library.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to see you soon!

Library Closure on March 26, 2025

The library will be closed on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 due to the water being shut-off for an extended period of time due to the water main construction project on East Henry Street.

Kiwanis and Friends Winter Clothing Drive

Come join us at the Linden Public Library for the Friends and Kawanis Winter Clothing Drive!

  • What: Kiwanis and Friends Winter Clothing Drive. New hats, gloves/mittens, jackets, and sock donations! To benefit the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless and St. Joseph’s Social Services. Both organizations are located in Elizabeth, but also provide services/programs for individuals and families in surrounding Union County communities including Linden.
  • When: January 6, 2025 until February 28, 2025.
  • Where: Linden Public Library.
  • How: Drop off in the Linden Public Library Lobby until February 28, 2025.

Support the Friends of the Library in partnership with GotSneakers by donating used/new sneakers. Clean out your closet for a good cause. Recycle. Reuse. Make a difference.

  • What: Get Sneakers Recycling Program, in partnership with GotSneakers, a sneaker recycling organization to turn old sneakers into cash and keep them out of landfills.
  • Where & How: Drop off at the Linden Public Library.
